Decor8 Curtains, Blinds and Shutters ("Decor8", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
We only collect information we need to respond to your enquiry and deliver your order. This may include:
- your name, phone number, email address and suburb or street address
- details about your enquiry, such as the products you're interested in and the day that suits you for a consultation
- information about your home and windows collected at your consultation, such as measurements, fabric and colour choices and installation notes
- payment and invoicing details needed to process your deposit and final payment
- notes from our phone calls, emails and messages with you
How we collect it
We collect information directly from you when you fill in a form on our website, call or email us, or meet with one of our decorators. Where possible we collect it from you rather than from anyone else.
When you use our website we may also collect technical information automatically, such as your device and browser type, the pages you visit, and how you arrived at our site (for example, from a Google search or ad). See cookies and analytics below.
How we use it
- to contact you about your enquiry and book your free consultation
- to prepare your quote and supply and install your order
- to process payments and keep business and tax records
- to provide after-sales service and handle warranty claims
- to understand which of our ads and web pages are working, so we can improve them
- to meet our legal obligations
We won't send you marketing emails or messages unless you've agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We only share it where needed to do the work you've asked us to do, including with:
- our decorators, installers and staff
- manufacturers and suppliers who make your products to measure
- service providers who help us run our business, such as website hosting, email, accounting and payment providers
- advertising and analytics providers such as Google (see below)
- anyone we're required or authorised to share it with by law
Some of our service providers, including Google, may store information on servers outside Australia, for example in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle your information in line with Australian privacy law.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies, small files stored on your device, to make the site work and to help us understand how it's used. We may use Google Analytics and Google Ads to measure visits, see which ads lead to enquiries and show relevant ads. These tools collect information such as pages viewed and ad clicks, which isn't used to identify you personally.
When you submit an enquiry, we also record details of how you found us, such as the ad campaign or search keyword, so we know which advertising is working.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout and manage Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com.
Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. When we no longer need it for business or legal reasons, we securely delete or de-identify it.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We'll respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first and we'll do our best to resolve it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
